MEET AMY rogers, mt-bc

Amy graduated with a Bachelor's of Music in Music Therapy from West Texas University in Canyon, TX.  She completed her internship at the Matheny Medical and Educational Center in Peacock, NJ and then began her graduate work at Colorado State University, in Fort Collins, CO.  Amy worked for Metro Music Therapy, serving the Denver metroplex and a wide variety of clients including:  Alzheimer's group homes, long term care facilities, adult day habilitation programs, and homebound and medically fragile children.  After marrying the man of her dreams and moving back to Texas, Amy began working as a music therapist for the special education program in a large public school district for 9 years, serving over 400 students in 38 classrooms, ranging from life skills to functional academic skills each year.  Amy also contracted with a Medicaid Family Service Waiver program for 7 years on a part time basis, serving clients in their homes as a part of their community integration program.  Fulfilling a long desire to return to San Angelo to be near family, Amy and her family moved back to the Concho Valley and has developed contracts to bring music therapy to this area.  Amy served as the Southwestern Region of the American Music Therapy Association (www.swamta.com) as Treasurer, and the American Music Therapy Association (www.musictherapy.org) as a representative on the financial advisory committee.  

 

 

Meet Hannah Crim, MT-BC

Hannah graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Music Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX. She completed her internship at Sing Your Way Home, LLC and then began working with Amy. Hannah took a short break and worked at a local mental health hospital in San Angelo, TX, serving adults and children with psychiatric disorders. Hannah has worked with a variety of clients including mental health, Alzheimer’s group homes, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and medically fragile adults and children. Hannah and her husband have settled down in San Angelo and love being around so many kind people.

 

Meet Kaitlynn Phillips

Kaitlynn graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Music therapy from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX. She completed her internship with Sing Your Way Home, LLC, and continued working for Amy post-graduation. Kaitlynn has worked with a variety of clinical populations throughout her clinical practicums and internship, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, individuals struggling with food insecurity, older adults with Alzheimer’s, and children and adults with developmental disabilities. Kaitlynn is eager to continue working with the wonderful people of San Angelo as she begins her professional career.
